Solar-trans

Klau Skuza

A multi-threaded story about the anxiety that looms below the surface. This is the space just before or just after the explosion. The subcutaneous tensions reach the scale of geological processes. Everything we push down into the depths returns with multiplied force. Voices come from the ground – remnants that emerge – as if they have been expelled from inside the body due to frictional movements. The explosion runs from inside – from the neurons trapped in the solar plexus, outward – to cosmic or extraterrestrial reality. Everything about energy exchange on Earth is driven by light. It causes constant, chaotic movement. The luminous trance causes an experience of unreality bordering on dreaming. Objects are transformed, experiencing a ritual transition. The dying flame burns our heart out.

The solar-trans experience is also included in Torch house, an appendix to the thesis. It refers to memories-rhizomes that sit somewhere in the back of the head. The rooted out house sets off, floating on its shaky legs. It tries to set a direction, but it’s vision gets lost, and distracted. It alternately grows in and out of places. It is doomed to wander, an eternal search, and a twisted escape.

Creates sculptures, installations, videos, and performative actions. Skuza is driven by a desire to poetically transform the world, by mixing made-up and not made-up stories together, spinning multi-layered tales.

Skuza’s works have been presented at exhibitions, reviews, and art festivals, among others at the Prześwit Foundation space (Solar-trans graduation exhibition, 2023), the Bliska Pavilion (Crash Club, 2023), A&O Kunsthalle Warsaw (Pursue the sandy tail, 2023), during the performance review aKTOmaR (2023), at the Przeciąg Gallery (Niedziela wieczur, 2024), Przyszła Niedoszła (WASZ (tu wpisz odpowiednią nazwę) CZAS SIĘ SKOŃCZYŁ, 2021), Raster Gallery (Ciało Pedagogiczne, 2019), BWA Gallery in Jelenia Góra (RE_TRACKING, 2019), and during the Open Out Festival in Tromsø (2023).
